| Spring Break in Hawaii A friend that writes for the same aquarium magazine that I do (but makes a lot of money in real estate, too) called up and asked if I'd like to spend a week in Hawaii. Of course, I said okay. He just bought a house on the "big island", which is actually called Hawai'i, and said come on over. So, I got back from Kyoto/Kobe/Osaka on Sunday and flew to Hawai'i on Monday. Bob has a 5 bedroom house there now and was taking a month off to hang out and get away from San Diego - and needed a dive buddy. I was happy to help him out... Unfortunately, I didn't have an underwater camera, so no UW photos, but we did see a lot of other cool stuff though. Another friend came over from California and we spent a day hiking around Kilauea volcano - the one you always see on TV. I took way too many pictures of lava - but that's because there's a good chance I'll be teaching geology again sometime in the future and want plenty of material. |
