So, the festival...

I still don't know if there was any specific theme or holiday, but for whatever reason there was a large festival here in Yukuhashi the second weekend of August. The city has about 70,000 people, but I'd swear there were 100,000 here, so I'm guessing that quite a lot of people came in from the surorunding areas.

There was plenty of traditional and non-traditional dancing and music, and food, food, food! Lots of food! There were also some Japanese stand-up comedians on a stage at one point, but when you don't speak much Japanese it's kind of hard to catch the punchline. Nobody else was laughing much though, so I guess they weren't that great anyway. Then, it all ended with a 40 minute non-stop fireworks show that was on par with New York's on the 4th of July.

Needless to say, I ate and drank until full, and had a great time looking at all the people and activities.
